The Art, Love, and Life of a Musician
The Olive Tree, The Sunshine Road, Smiling Face, Walking in the Rain, Farewell, You are All My Memories, we can find pursuing, introspection, beauty, and mistake in those poems, and these elements seems contradictive but keep showing up in our lives. The Dreamy Fallacy links 29 Taiwanese poems and 29 classic songs of Tai-hsiang LEE together and brings clues of thinking, power of consoling, and courage of tasting life and love to all people.
A legendary life of an artist starts with the eagerness for freedom; the peak of life lies in strong sense of mission and passionate thoughts; inspiration of creating comes from romantic nature and fantasy for love. The Dreamy Fallacy is edited by producer Mel YANG of Quanta Theater, directed and choreographed by director Jin-tao WU of Fluxwaves Dance Theater, and Taiwanese musical actors will altogether annotate a story seeking for dreams which belongs to you and me. It also refines cherishing memories behind every soul, and will restart romantic times of Taiwan with you.
Composer Tai-hsiang LEE
Tai-hsiang LEE has been a renowned music persona for nearly 50 years since his graduation in the 60s. In the late 80s, he conducted the Netherland's famous Royal Concertgebouw Orchestr in recording his personal album and later in 1987, produced the first large-scale opera “Chess” in Taiwan. LEE has been a musical pioneer all through his career. In 1988, he started an ambitious world tour despite suffering from initial Parkinson's disease. He later terminated the tour due to critical health conditions. LEE is of brightest creativity, and achieved an unsurpassable record in Taiwan's music history to this day. In 2011, Master LEE aged seventy, we hope that people can recall these gorgeous romances depicted in his music by reviewing his works again.
Quanta Theater
“Quanta Theater” is a new performing art field created by “Quanta Arts Foundation” for performing artists who have dreams; it is also a platform which starts with “creativity” and “production”. Started in 2010, its purpose is to include creative talents with multi-aspect, which contains literature, music, dance, drama and design. We also expect that it will become a form of “Organic Theater” continued progressing by interacting with audience.
Quanta Arts Foundation
In 2010, Barry Lam, the founder and chairman of Quanta Computer Incorporated, established the Quanta Arts Foundation (QAF), with promoting the performing arts of ethnic Chinese as our main objective. We create “Quanta Theatre”, and also selecting works that have potential rewarding them and provide performance opportunities in order to reach the goal of “turning stones into gold”.
